MSR CreativeOrigin story
I grew up in Northbrook, Illinois, staging living room shows from the time I was 5. The first time I saw the VHS of Mary Martin’s Peter Pan, I was hooked.
As a boy, I played Harold Hill, Nathan Detroit, and Tevye—the last of those while missing my two front teeth. I skated for the Northbrook Bluehawks until I was fifteen.
Every summer from ten to twenty-two I was at Camp Timberlane, learning guitar, learning to waterski, and losing my voice screaming through all-camp competitions.
I trained at The Boston Conservatory, where I earned a BFA in Musical Theater with an emphasis in acting and songwriting.
When I’m not in a show, I’m typically writing something, creating something, or sharing original songs and stories—trying to conjure collective effervescence wherever I go.
I live with my husband Sam and our perfect dog, Penny.
